Cheryle Kennedy has dedicated her life to wellness, education, and cultural revitalization, serving 17 years as Chairwoman of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde. A champion for Indigenous health, sovereignty, and leadership, her impact spans decades of work in Tribal health care, policy, and community advocacy. A former athlete and coach, Cheryle believes in the power of sport, culture, and mentorship to keep girls and women strong, connected, and thriving. Carolyn Wood made history at 14 as one of the youngest U.S. athletes to win Olympic gold in 1960. But her journey didn’t stop there. From competitive running and masters track to trekking the Camino de Santiago, climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, and staying active at the Multnomah Athletic Club, Carolyn embodies what it means to be truly fit for life. As a teacher, author, and advocate for women in sports, she continues to inspire generations with her resilience, curiosity, and joy. Asia Wisecarver is a champion for equity in sports, leadership, and life. As Executive Director of Playworks Pacific Northwest and GM of the Oregon Ravens, she creates inclusive spaces where young people can thrive through play, sport, and mentorship. A former women’s tackle football player, Asia is now a coach, mentor, and advocate, inspiring the next generation through her leadership. Named to Portland Business Journal’s “40 Under 40,” she embodies the She Flies mission: keeping girls in the game, empowering women coaches, and promoting fitness for life.
